RC1 DVD Decoder problems?
Hi All, I received the Windows XP RC1 DVD in my August MSDN subscription. I would like to install WinXP Pro into a new virtual machine using VMware. What I would like to do is to create a bootable CD-ROM of WinXP Pro RC1 so that I can avoid having to install Win98 or Win2K first and then upgrading to WinXP.

Reboot: Booted to logon prompt ok, but no X. Had to apt-install xserver-xorg and Gnome to get desktop even tho all should have been on the DVD. During the installation you are presented with a list of tasks that can be selected. Are you sure you selected the "Desktop" task for installation?
